Where can you get a tool set designed for building AR lowers? I've done it in the past with regular tools and it was a PITA!

What "regular tools" did you use? I don't know of any special tools made for this purpose other that a vise block for holding the receiver. Some of the tools I use were not what I tried the first one or two I built, but I learned what works best and now have the "go to" tool for each step. -

Assembling a stripped lower. The hardest part was getting the roll pins in. I think i was holding them with needle nose pliers and it was a pain.
I thought somebody sold a set of tools specifically designed for assembling lowers. ANd what about to put the stock on? Don't you need a special wrench?
What size roll pin holder would I need? I don't really want to spend $50 for the whole set unless I need them all.

Don't have any experience with this kit, but it looks like it has the size of the roll pin starter punches you would need.

If you are talking about roll pin starters, there are two different tools that really make the job effortless AND virtually eliminate jacking up the pin or the finish on your receiver. Sure you can use needle nose or some goofy thing like that and save a few dollars, but here are links to the two punches. Shop around there is a lot of price differences. These are quality tools and will last a lifetime if you dont use them for a center punch.
These are what you use AFTER you get a roll pin started OR you are removing a roll pin.
These are what you use to start a roll pin.
sidebar: I am not a Midway cheerleader, its just I knew they carry them and they are easy to find quickly, for illustration.
As for other AR building tools, you should have most of them already. A solid Vise, a magazine block, small brass hammer, assorted regular punches, barrel wrench, torque wrench, strap wrench is nice but not imperative.
This set isnt bad, but shop around.

+1 For the Riflegear set.
I ordered it and used it, and it worked fine. I ended up getting another roll pin/punch set from Harbor Freight because it was $11.00. Mainly because it had some longer punches which came in handy with the bolt catch/release pin. The mag block holder came in handy when putting in the bolt catch/release pin.
