alright so i've gotten to this point in my builds and I'm having some trouble. I have an all matching numbers original barrel amd-65 kit that I pushed the barrel in to where the barrel pin hole lines up with the hole in the trunnion, but the bolt does not close entirely without some force on a go-gauge, but closes entirely on a round with no force at all. So after discovering this I decided to try the gauges on my saiga as a control, and the bolt is even farther from closing on the go gauge then it was on the amd. I've fired 1200+ rounds from the saiga without a single hiccup so its hard for me to believe that the headspacing could be off on this. Is this a problem with the gauges or am I doing something wrong? Also while headspacing my egyptian kit I got the bolt to close almost completely on the go gauge, not closing on the no-go, and closing completely on rounds. I'm talking like just BARELY being able to slide a piece of paper in between the edge of the bolt and trunnion, but still a small visible gap, at least to me. I pushed the barrel out slightly, and now it closes completely on the go gauge and on the no-go, so I have to push it back in a little bit, but is that small of a gap ok? It seems as though the go gauge just wont close entirely on anything like the bolt closes on a round unless the barrel is pushed out way too far. Advice or help please?
I can post pics if needed, and yes the bolt face and chamber has been completely clean on all of these. Thanks in advance.
