glock 27 mag extention

Is there a trick to taking off the bottom plate to put on a pearce extention?

beside pushing the pin in on the bottom, there seems to be 2 tabs on the sides of the mag you have to get past as well, & that's where I don't want to screw anything up.

Do you just squeeze the bottom of the mag with a pair of pliers?

Google YOU TUBE Glock mag disassembly video. Simple if you have a Glock tool. If you don't it can still be done. Improvise.Good luck.

Thats exactly what I was doing but wasn't sure about the tabs and didnt want to break them off.

The guy at the "gun store" where I got it suggested I use a dremel to take off the tabs.

makes you wonder sometime....

No way! He just wants to sell you more mags.I would stay away form that shop for sure.

You can often depress the pin with a punch then press the floor plate off with the punch. Some magazines squeeze easier than others.

I've changed my G27 floor plates to Magpul Speed Plates and some of them came right off while others were a royal pain.

Best advice I can give though is to keep your thumb over the follower once you start sliding the plate off.
