Q2: If the upper is semi-auto than yes. I think only Serbu makes a semi auto .50 DTC rifle, it is several thousand dollars and I don't believe it fits an AR lower. I think Serbu and Safety Harbor are the only ones who make mag fed .50 DTC rifles. Because of the size of the cartridge versus the size of the AR magwell, you cannot simply make a 50 DTC upper and use the AR magwell to feed ammo. The Safety Harbor upper utilizes a magazine that fits the left side of the upper. Usually these rifles are single shots.

^^This is correct.

Buy it you are good to go in California. You cant feed a bolt action 50 from an AR15 magwell. So the Magwell while the 50 is attached is just a hole in the bottom of the frame and not a magwell.

I think all .50 DTC uppers on a AR lowers will need the bolt catch, buffer and buffer spring removed. If you can do that on a FAB10 you can use it for a DTC.

Most that I have experience with require a modified bolt catch, I run a SMOS single shot lower which doesn't have the bolt catch provision and the 50 DTC upper I have doesn't need one.

you will have to leave the buffer parts out so there is somewhere for the bolt to go when you cycle the bolt on the upper.

what if the oll has a 556 caliber engraved on it? is it ok? or it has to be a multi caliber?

Doesn't matter, it is just an engraving. My Glock says for .40 on it but that doesn't meet I cannot use my .22LR conversion slide or my 9mm conversion barrel doesn't it.

i think you cannot use a fab10 for your 50dtc because of the fixed magazine attached on it. i dont know if its legal to remove the magazine and use it for your 50dtc. is it?

Serbu doesn't offer a magfed conversion... just a purpose built single shot and the new semi-auto.

One of my FAB10s is a registerer 50BMG. So, yes you're GTG. If you want the best shooting 510 upper on the market, look at ALS uppers. Like anything else 50 related, there is a long wait for top quality uppers. But, if you're willing to wait, you'll end up with a gun capable of .5moa at 1000 yards. Even I've shot .5moa groups with mine. I've seen .3moa and .4 moa groups from them as well. That means, they truely produce (not just manufacturer's claims) groups between 3" and 4" at 1000 yards IF the shooter has his loads dialed in and does everything right.

No problem at all.

Perfectly legal to remove the mag. However, my mag was impossible to get out. So, Advanced Longrange Systems justed milled the top of the mag flush with the top of the lower when he built my upper. I handed him the lower our of state and he returned it to me out of state. So, I had no worries about the upper fitting the lower tight or the fact that I gave a registered 50 BMG action to a out of state FFL without going through a Ca AW dealer.

I just have to say that shooting my AR/DTC conversions are my favorite rifles to shoot. There are some great .50cal guys on CalGuns- Also, if you have the cash join the FCSA.
