I have a lot of time on my hands and some $$$$ to waste so i decided to take on a few builds, my latest kits are a pair of suomi kp 44s that i found at centerfire systems for 50 bucks each! anyways, i am almost through with 1 build but i'm having trouble with the legal mods. The first problem is my 71 rnd drum, i bought 4 and have no idea how to shorten them to fit only 10 rounds, the next problem is the FCG, i looked everywhere and all i can find is a remington 870 version that looks ugly as hell, if anyone else is doing this please enlighten me with your ideas, also if anyone needs help with their build and lives around the bay area shoot me a p.m. and i'd be glad to help, i can also make a tutorial if anyone needs it although there is already a nice one on weapoonsguild....

Interesting KP44...idea Lokote. I believe you could purchase all these items from MGS if you have the parts kit and do the fitting and welding process. But plenty to keep in mind to make it legal. If I'm building one of these I would go with the pistol route alternative similar to I.O.inc product called PPS-43C pistol were they did the close bolt requirement, semi-auto trigger modifications and weld the stock at fold position "or" have the stock removed then do the single sled and magazine lock like the Cali Dracos.
MGS parts:

You should have bought the stick magazines for Soumi M31 from Copes. That's easier to modify like the AK mags with either a rivet or a mag block to hold 10 rounds. The Drums looks complicated as I looked at the internals from this other forum discussion ( http://www.uzitalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5344 ) Either you place something to stop the pusher rod at exactly 10 rounds with a welded tab as a "stopper" or come up with something like a chained link of 69 dummy rounds just like what they show on the picture. Just an idea, I hope it helps.Comment

Do stick mags, not the drums. Seriously.Comment

the Weapon's guild is one of the premier "homebuilder" sites on the internet right now. Lots of good info there to be had on how to build the exotic stuff.Jack
