    1911 Comander barrels longer than 4"

    I have a Kimber Pro Carry II HD (not sure what that means?) with 4' Bull barrel. Some day I would like to try a longer Barrel in it, maybe 4 1/2 to 4 3/4". Have any tried this and is there any benefits to it? I holstered it and noticed the barrel could be just a little longer. Seems like this has been done before. Many Thanks.
