Just a thought- if you carefully milled (or god forbid, dremelled) a slot across where the dimples are (cut it until it's just about to break through, but DON'T cut through to the barrel), and used a flathead screwdriver hammered into the slot to crack the gas block and front sight, they'd probably slip right off.
That's how they used to remove barrel stubs from FAL parts kits back in the day.
