    1911 paperweights

Hey all! I'm very, very new to the gun community, period. So, you'll have to pardon my ignorance of many and all things. I never do anything half-assed and dove right in.

I'd like to build my own 1911 and keep seeing 80% paperweights for sale. Does anyone know where to go from there? Could you point me to any good videos and suppliers of the best parts available?

Thanks in advance and sorry for being wordy.

Start with reading all the 1911 threads here with "60%" or "80%" in the title. Then read all the linked sites. I'm not a 1911 guy (yet?) but I'm seeing almost every dimension and step to complete them "60%" paperweights without trying.

Quickest way would be to host a Build Party and watch as the talent (and knowledge with it) flocks in!
