    Siaga front sight conversion

I tried searching but couldnt find any sites or threads on changing the front sight. I was told I just need to drill out the dimples and bang the fron sight off. Are the Saiga barrells already drilled on the bottom to accept the original sight block? If not, are there any gunsmiths around who are able to do that for me? I dont have any jigs to hold it the rifle steady and straight while I have at it with a drill press.
    Thanks in advance

Why are you taking it off?
If you are only doing it to put on a hand guard retainer there are easier ways.

            Cool. Good luck.
I finished one yesterday, but am keeping the sight post on until a build party.

I'll take pictures of the end result. there are never build parties here. I've dont EVERYTHING but the sight block and the front sight. I dont plan on changing the sight block and might just tig weld the cleaning rod hold IF i HAVE to have it.
So I will either post pics of my screw up or my success

Hold on... NEVER build parties in SoCal?!?!

What part of socal are you in? Because there is one in SD next month and one in the Santa Clarita area probably in Sept. I know you probably can't wait until then but there are build parties around.

you have to pretty much cut off the dimpled saiga FSB's just make a slit on bothe sides and take it off. put on the new FSB and you could use the all thread method to pull it into position, just keep it in place before you drill and make sure its straight.
