Posted in the California firearms forum with no luck, I'll try here. I've come up with very little on my own search. Can anyone recommend a gunsmith in the North State...I'm in Butte County...that does good work on 1911's? Have a 6 inch Nowlin barrel that I would like installed on my Springfield Mil-Spec along with a Match bushing. The barrel would have to be cut back to 5" and crowned. Thanks for any help you can provide.

The barrel and bushing will have to be fitted. Did the internals but wanted to go with an expert with the proper tools and know how for the barrel."I don't do these things to other people, and I require the same from them."

Midwayusa.com sells the tools you need. Just do some research online or go to a book store ( heck midway even has the book) and buy a 1911 or pistol gunsmithing book.
I would offer to do it for you but I am in no way an expert or pro.
