Recomend a smith for R700 work.

I am looking to upgrade my barrel, maybe get a break installed, tactical knob installed and maybe get my bolt worked. Is there any suggestions of a place in the bay area that I can get this done? I also have been looking at Shilen barrels from midwayusa but they state that the barrel must be finished, is this so?

Try Tabor's in San Bruno. I've talked to Frank before about working on a R700 and he said he can do most anything. Word of warning, just go in with the gun and ask him about getting it done, he doesn't care much for talking over the phone. You may want to ask how long it might take, I've read elsewhere that he's a pretty busy guy.
