Tabuk Barrel...?

Got a Romy G kit on the way that I want to build into a Tabuk Clone, I used the search here but no dice? any leads on where to go I thought about Krebs but was hopin for someone local. I figured I'd get the IWD tabuk wood furniture kit and post the romy wood for sale or trade later. Its "Hanging" fore grip out "Hangs" me and thats not ok!! lol Thanks in advance.

"Tabuks" are based on Yugo M70 Kalashnikovs. Their 1.5 mm receivers. What kind of Tabuk are you building? Assault rifle clone or designated marksman?

By the way. Yugo's and Romy's are not compatible.

you want to build a tabuk dm clone. you need a compatable long bbl. 22.6" with f/h.
i'll be looking. maybe arms of america. check tantal for a scope rail.

copes had them about a year ago i guess is when i built my clone, not on their website you had to call it was rather on the DL

So my next question is would a Mak90 kit ( well trunnions ) be a better Tabuk platform? I was thinking the DMR version like IWD has on thier home page? Thanks Mach I'm gonna start a petition to change your name to, THE AK Guru!

No, the Chinese trunnions are 19mm, too small. If you're going to do it (DMR build), be patient and do it right.

I've got a year invested in my build but I'm starting to see light at the end of this tunnel.

Hopefully there will be another run of Tabuk 23 inch barrels from Copes. Maybe if they got enough requests.....

There are still plenty of Yugo stamped M70 kits out there.

I see copes is no stock on barrels, could I hone open my MAK trunnion? I'm willing to settle for a simple long barreled look a like for long distance bowling pin shoots. Up late Mach no wonder you catch the good early bird deals

If you really want a Tabuk clone just get an RPK, it's not exactly like one but it's close.

Yup you can always grab a front end or something from a place and replace everything that is needed.. IDK how much you have invested Mach but I know Tabuk clones run about $1K in parts.

There have been two runs of the barrels already. There could be a third. They sold out both runs easily. Like I said, the M70 kits are still available. So the next time I post something like this, you jump on it.
