    Ruger SP101 Issue

    I have a brand new Ruger SP101 3" 357.
Attempted to practice with a speedloader and the rounds would not go in smoothly.
Come to find out two of the 5 cylinder bores seemed to be incorrectly machined.
I placed each indivual round into the cylinder and there are two that just won't allow the round to drop in. I tried with several different ammo and came up with the same issue.

Any local gunsmith in the Monterey, San Benito, Santa Clara county area that can fix this "factory" defect? At this point - don't mind paying versus sending in to Ruger and waiting some ridiculous amount of time to get it back.

    thanks

You need to chamfer the cylinder/extractor star edges to smooth bullet feeding, also cut/grind back the upper grip on left side to give you a lower straighter angle into the cylinder, then only load roundnose bullets cast or jacketed.

Before any file work coat a round with magic marker and run it in and out of the tight cylinder see if you can id a specific spot that is the hang up and work on that first. Make sure several different rounds fit the same and fire it a bit before filing or removing metal. Metal is cheap to remove but expensive to put on.

Nothing else getting in the way? Grip for example? If a round wouldn't go in Chamber A for example, will it go into a chamber that doesn't have the problem; and is the reverse true?
