    Parkerizing instructions

Need a little help. I have a few home built AK's and I need to find good instructions on how to parkerize them. Is there a good source on the web where I can find good detailed instructions? Should I use Shooter Solutions or Brownells?

The M1 Garand rifle is the greatest battle implement ever devised. Build an M1 garand from parts. Remove bluing and parkerize steel. Gun cleaning, restoration, repair, and history."

That's as good as a guide as any, but there are many other good guides out there. Main thing is getting all the oil removed and doing the other general surface prep work beforehand. Good luck!

Gavin Newsom is a lying, cheating slickster and will be is the worst mistake California has ever made if he gets now that he has been elected Governor. Hollywood movie producers look to him and his oleaginous persona as a model for the corrupt "bad guy" politician character. This guy is so greasy, he could lubricate an entire arsenal of AR-15s just by breathing on them.

I like the Shooter's Solution kit I bought >4 years ago, took awhile for delivery but it works well. I got the manganese big kit, lots left after lots of parking.

            Lauer

However, have you consider a baked on finish? Guncoat, Ceramcoat?

Will the park be the final finish? If so then go with Brownells, if not don't waste your money on the expensive stuff if your only gonna paint over it. Go to Home Depot and buy some Naval Jelly or Jasco rust remover. It's a phosphoric acid based metal treatment and does the same thing that a park job does, only cheaper. Only go this route if your gonna paint over the park.

The smart, learn from their own mistakes.
The others, well......they just never learn.

How much would it cost if you took per say a pistol to a gunsmith so they could do it?

I get better results with Brownells. They had a fantastic download with more than you'd ever need to know about parkerizing...I can't find it on the website...I'll bet a call on Monday will get you a link or a pdf attached to an email.

I use the Lauer CW stuff. It seems to get better the more I park. After about 30 parked guns, the end result gets pretty black.
