Resources/Advice/Info Needed

I searched a bit and have given up, so I thought I would throw this out there to the experts.

I recently sold my .223 12fv Savage (right hand) and I want to get another one, only Left handed, which I am, anyway I was thinking since the Lefties are hard to come by, and I always have thought of building my own, I would look into it. I know it would be cheaper to just keep searching and buy a finished one, however not as much fun

I have search Sharp Shooter Supply and Midway etc, I also don't want to spend more than about $800 or so on this build, and not wanting to build an AR type gun either. I want a Varmint bolt gun.

1. Is there a good book I could buy for reference? ie gun building for dummies.

2. Web resources to buy barrel's, triggers, stocks, etc ..

3. Build resources here on the site or?

3. Any ideas or resources appreciated ...

The $800 budget will be a problem if you want to build one from parts.
I suggest you order a factory gun and just wait for it to come in.
That's about the only way you are coming-in under $800.

Otherwise, talk to CamW and 264Charlie.
Both of these guys are lefties with precision rifles.
