my ar safety wont fit.

    my ar safety wont fit.

    anyone have any suggestions on how to get it to fit in its spot? this is my first ar lower i have ever put together. thanks for your time and help!

    did you try to fit the safety selector in without the trigger group in place? this will tell you that it fits the frame.

    after you install the trigger group in place, place the hammer in the cocked positon and leave it in that position, then you place the safety selector into the frame.

        i have done that.... with the hammer cocked a little part of the trigger frame sticks up in the way still...

          Then remove the hammer, install the selector and re-install the hammer.

          Some selectors require fitting due to mismatch between fire control parts and lower recievers.
          You might just have one of those recievers or fire control parts sets that do not work together.

            still doesn't fit.... i took a pic with my phone if you wanna see or have any ideas. i could email it to you.. would grinding it down just a hair do anything bad?

              It won't fit in the holes? I had the same problem but I just took the hammer out and it went in fine. Take the trigger out if you have to, and then slide the trigger under the safety.

                    I had to do that on one of mine. Start with your lower stripped and see if it fits. If it does, then go to the next step. On the one that didn't fit, all I had to do was remove the hammer and it worked.
