Bullet Button removal

Looking to change out my bullet button but it seems to be lock-tight'ed big time. Tried a removal wrench and it broke the wrench. Anyone have any tips on how to dissolve lock-tight?

Heat is the enemy of loctite, especially the red stuff.

Usually you end up having to use a torch to apply enough heat, but I'd try incrementally first, i.e. with a heat gun or the wife's hairdryer set to the highest setting and let it sit there and get things really good and warm.

I've heard of the opposite working too - putting loctite-fastened parts in the deep freeze, but never tried that one myself. I think that's more a function of expansion/contraction, not actually weakening the loctite itself.

What kind of bullet button are you using? also, make sure its legal to remove.

Where did you get it??? (Who put the button on)
Can you ask them what they used?
What tool are you using to remove it???

I used a "Freelock" tool. I am looking to install a Rad Lock. It is legal. It is a two mode bullet button. Just make sure you are in the right position when in CA. I bought the AR here on Calguns and the existing button was already on. I will be installing the new one once I get the locktight off. I am in South OC.

Thanks for the tips guys. I have heard heat works and also nail polish remover and gunscrubber also work so will be trying all of the above.
