Electroless Nickel Plating

Hey guys...

Does anyone know who in So Cal can do Electroless Nickel plating? I have a rifle in SS but the only scope mount options I can find are all blued or parked. I ended up getting a blued mount and SS rings but I will need to have the mount plated.

I used that kit on some motorcycle parts I machined. It was pretty darn easy to use and worked well. I was surprised as I am usually disappointed in most of the do it yourself home finishes. A couple of things to be aware of is that it will add material to the parts. It will also show any imperfection in the parts such as a ding, scratch or nick. Oh, it also smells pretty bad so do it outside if you can.

It ended up depositing about .001 of material on the parts I plated.

I'm planning on using this kit.
I showed its contents to a friend who owns a metal plating shop and he said it looked like a quality kit. Granted (he said) it is not as good as electro-plate, but for small parts the price and quality cold not be touched (if done right). Prep work it key.
