    AR Extractor Problem...

Ok I picked up an AR-Stoner Bolt & Barrel in 50 Beo, assembled the lot on a Sun Devil non forward assist upper...

During a function test, I chambered a spent case and moved the BCG forward, it will not close or engage. The BCG stops about a 1/8' shy. Same issue with a factory live round... (firing pin removed)

Everything locks up fine, without a shell chambered.
Also, if I remove the extractor, and a shell is chambered, it'll lock up.

I'm thinking for some reason the extractor is not flexing outward enough to get pass the rim of the shell and engage.

Has anyone had this type of problem, and what solutions have worked to correct?

    Thanks

Don't move the BCG forward. Let it slam closed on it's own.

Riding the charging handle will almost always result in your results.
    It's not PTSD, it's nostalgia.

The upper is not mounted on a lower... I was just testing the upper for lockup...

Extend the extractor's cut forward so it will snap on the rim.

I'll give it a light sanding... The milling looks really bad...
