    AR lower assembly lubrication?

Hey guys. I'm building my first AR and was wondering if any lubrication was required for the lower assembly. Some of the manuals I've read suggest a small amount of moly grease on the sear engagement while others do not mention any lubrication. Anyone care to enlighten me?

I dunno about anyone else but I'll tell you how Marine grunts run 'em.

Zero lubrication. It's not needed and would just attract dirt.

After tens of thousands of rounds they're none the worse for wear and function just like they always did.

Since you're putting it together, I would wipe down or spray all the parts with CLP or equivalent, and then wipe off the excess, just so the parkerizing isn't bone dry.

Not really necessary. So people do lube the hammer where it makes contact with the carrier.

I put oil on the roll pins to facilitate insertion.

Grease on the hammer/sear contact and hammer face.

              I'm not that picky.

              Lubriplate is great.

              I've been using Mobil-1 grease a bit. I'm not 100% yet.
