    Barrel jam

Ok here it goes. I was shooting my sigma 9mm, I'm not sure if my buddy who I asked if he can load up my mag, might of picked up a .380 round by mistake. Long story short I have ammo jammed in my barrel. If seems the primer was shot out since i can see it. I didnt try to get it out in anyway seemed to dangerous for a noob like me to do. So I guess my question is should i take it to a gunsmith? or just buy a new berral? If i take it to the gunsmith would the barrel even be usable?

    thanks.

Do you have a round stuck in the chamber??? if that is the case.
How deep into the chamber?? Are you able to use a pick to pull it out? can you use a cleaning rod to push it out? a round .380 for sure?
    Can you elaborate.

I say about an inch into the barrel but not into where the barrel is rifled, the bullet is still in the round. Haven't tried to push it yet as of I didn't want to endanger myself doing so. Im not sure if it could be a .380 round from what i was shooting before or just bad ammo

What do you mean by the primer was shot out? Is it missing or is it just dimpled? Location?

Edit: What does the name on the case say? Is it the same brand as the 380 or the 9mm that you have been shooting?

Seem like it was blown off? cant even see the bottom of the case, Just the the powder and if i see through the other side with a flashlight i can see the round still attached, so i have no idea. Ive fired about 1000 rounds already and properly cleaned and maintained it. CTD has the barrel for 63 dollars, not sure how much a gunsmith would charge to fix the issue

If it was me, I'd remove the barrel, put a wooden dowel in the muzzle and pound the crap out of it with a rubber mallet.

I don't understand what you mean, "just the powder"??? You still see powder???

If I understand you right... It sounds like you either had a case head separation (meaning that the head of the cartridge has separated or ripped off from the rest of the cartridge) or you just have a stuck bullet. Like was said before, get a wooded rod from the hardware store and shove it down the front of the barrel (the part where the bullet exits) and pound the bullet out thru the breech (the end where you stick in the bullet). Hopefully, you just have a stuck bullet and the case has been ejected long ago.

                Good luck.

                BTW: Pics would be great.

I actually did use a dowel one time on a revolver. Had a bad round...no powder. The primer worked and the bullet left the case just enough so the cylinder wouldn't move. Just glad it didn't happen while on duty.

If it were me, I'd give it to a friend I don't like and have him set it off with a torch.

Seriously, I'd do the wooden dowel trick from the muzzle.

Thanks for the help fellas, tried to take pics but it just didn't come out right with very little details. I'll take out my vise tomorrow morning and do it, and yes I can field strip it easy. Just my first jam and I didn't want to do anything before I asked here first

I've had to tap out a squib round before as well. use a woodel dowel, then check the barrel for bulges and other deformities before using it again
