    P220 magazine disassembly

I have an older Sig P220 magazine, with the metal floorplate, and I'm trying to figure out how to disassemble this thing so I can replace the spring. I push the metal tab on the side up a little and can slide the floorplate maybe a quarter of an inch towards the front, but it seems stuck after that, and I can't get the floorplate off. Any suggestions?

That should be all that's to it. Just slide it off.

push down the exposed part of the very end/botton of the spring, while holding down slide the plate.

Ok, I tried to just slide it off after depressing the spring end, but it didn't come off so easily. I'll try again and try to figure a way to get more force in sliding out the plate.

What happens is the grooves get dinged in on the floorplate and they won't slide off easily. It might take a bit o' force to get it off the first time.
