Milled vs. Stamped kits

I'm a newb to the AK thing, and doing some searching. If a person were to do a stamped receiver build, would he/she want to buy a stamped parts kit only, or can a milled parts kit be used/modified to work as well. I'm just asking because as well all know, the complete kits for these things seem to be getting harder to find. How about a milled homebuilt option? Any 80% milled options out there that are fairly feasable to do? Thanks
