Any machinist that do custom work in the SF Bay?

I have some steel parts that need to be finished or maybe even duplicated. If you know of a good machinist that can custom make me a few parts and finish off a part, please let me know.

I had this customer, give me a drawing. I took it over to Koffler Electrical. (www.koffler.com) they have a lathe with a 50 foot long bed and a 10 foot swing!! http://koffler.com/machining.html among other things. so anyways, they make this widget. it was $400, it turns out it was a brake for a mosin the customer built to give to me i have never picked up yet!! oooff!

With machining it's all about the quantity if you want to get the price down. Onesies and twosies will kill you but a production run, now that's another thing. Where did you get the unfinished FSB/GB?

I'm not really in your area, but do custom work. One off projects are my favorite. I'm a bit limited on time right now and am pretty busy with other things but I may be able to help you out if this hasn't been handled yet, depending on your time frame.

Have you thought about making it yourself? I've been looking at vocational schools, you can take machining and get in the hours that way.
There are 3 kinds of people in this world.
The wise, learn from the mistakes of others.
The smart, learn from their own mistakes.
The others, well......they just never learn.
