    Questions re Mauser bolt work

Hi, new owner of Mauser Yugo M24/47, original condition. I want to have the bolt handle replaced and low safety lever installed for scope clearance, and install a cock-on-open unit. I'm in the Bay Area, Can someone refer me to a good gunsmith who is reasonable and not backed up for months? Thanks!

Yugo 24/47 rifles already cock on opening, all 98 style Mausers do. You can get the bolt forged, which is heated and bent, which often costs a bit less than cutting and welding. The guy that does mine charges $50 + $7 priority mail, and I have the bolt back in a little more than a week. Properly done, they look quite well.

You are going to Bubba a nice, historic rifle? Just get higher or side mounted scope rings....
