I own a Para P18-9, Full size 1911, 9mm. Has a MATCH barrel. Bought it used. Looked too clean to be true. Had one little scratch on the main spring housing. It had cycling issues from the start. Already sent it back to Para & they replaced the hammer, sear, disconnect. One problem solved, now the problem is extractions.
I've got about 750, reloads & 250 factory rounds thru the gun. I average about 2 failures to extract per 100 rounds. Not acceptable for IDPA or personal protection usage.
The gun has the Para "claw" extractor w/ the spring hook. I have also tried a standard Wilson extractor. Pretty much the same results. It has had FTE with each of the 4 different magazines.
