    Colt M1911A1 Ejection problems

My dad recently gave me his fathers 1911A1 that he carried in WW2. As far as I can remember it has been an excellent shooter up until now.

Usually 1-2 rounds per mag it will FTE.

From what I have been reading this is most likely due to lack of extractor tension.

As reluctant as I am to replace parts on this gun, it needs doing since it is a shooter(flame away). Does anyone recommend any specific extractors?

You can try re-tensioning the extractor if the hook is still in good shape. It is not that hard to do. Try some new high quality magazines if you have not already done so. Actually you might as well replace all the springs and just eliminate this as a possibility. Springs are consumables in an autopistol.

What problem are you having?Ejection or extraction? I wight have a WWII extractor but I don't think I have a WWII ejector. Call me at 323-722-3903

Make sure the extractor hole is not full of cosmoline or crud. Check for case tension against the breech face, if it droops or falls of then retension the extractor.
