making a target... help

ok so ive decided to make a target with round plates that spin.
i just have no idea what plating to use... like how thick.
since i shoot 22, 9mm, and 223 im going to need different thickness'.
i plan on making the targets removable from the stand so that i can shoot my different calibers.
any help on plating would be appreciated. thanks.

depending on distance you should be good with 1/4" hot rolled plate but I'd go 5/16" to have more flexability.

Actually, my AR plows through 3/8" plate @ 200 yds. I would at least use 1/2" for the .223

you need an "abrasion resistant" steel like AR500. Otherwise you will end up destroying it with the centerfire calibers.

Yep, you need armor plate, if you plan on shooting it with any round that has a velocity of 2000 FPS or more.
