How to secure a side folder AK stock?

Does anyone know how to non permanently secure a Romanian side folder? This is the lever style not a push button folder.

      That seems rather permanent.

I drilled a hole in the "wire" body under the rear screw hole. so that when you attach the rear screw, the screw will travel into the the hole you drill and keep it from folding.

You could weld a washer to the bottom.

Ok fixed it. I drilled a small hole through the top of it between the two screw holes and down into the folder hinge area and dropped a cut off section of drill bit into it. The rear trunnion keeps it from coming out and it can't be seen.

I "shimmed" mine on the bottom of the lever "gap" between the folder trunnion and the lower part of the receiver.

Basically if you take your stock out of the receiver and flip it around, you'll see the gap where the lever moves down when you press it.

All you gotta do is fab a shim to fill that gap so when you press the level down, there's no room for the lever to go, so the stock won't fold.

I put two pennies together and filed it down to a long "carrot" shape, fits just right in the gap on the stock trunnion, glues it in place so it won't drop out when I put in back into the receiver.

Now when I push down on the lever on the stock, it won't move, so it won't release the folding mechanism.

No perm mods to the stock at all.

be careful modifying those pennies, thats destruction of US currency!

the solution? at the last canyon country build party i brought a bag of canadian coins. if i remember right, the canadian nickels with holes drilled in the center worked as good shims.
SCALIA: WTF are you talking about? We can incorporate it under due process. I hate due process and I even think that.

BTW.....I wanted to clarify my solution is actually for a Polish Tantal folding stock (it's slightly different).
Maybe a variation of my solution is still viable for the Romanian side folder.

Posting my solution with pics on 69Mach1s how to thread.
