    336 Trigger Question

I just got a Marlin 336 from a friend and while inspecting it after I got to take it home I noticed that the trigger moves left and right and is kinda loose all the way around. How do i fix it? Is it normal? Am I posting this in the right place? Thanks.

Thanks. I was worried that it was gonna fall out like a loose tooth the first time I shoot it. I think I'll go today.

          marlinowners.com or leverguns.com
It is the marlin 2 piece trigger. Some like the safety feature and some replace it with a one piece.
If it was a snake, it would have bit me.

I don't have a great understanding of hte mechanism, but I believe you are right, it prevents the trigger from being pulled until the lever depresses the lever safety.
