Different methods to press rivets.

So the kit is sitting around. Ready to build.

I've done extensive research and the method that comes up mosty is the bolt cutters. Is this the way to go?

What other methods can I use?

Bolt cutters work fine for the front trunnion.
But not for the rear trunnion or trigger guard.

Find a local build party. You should be able to find all the different jigs you want at one.

I know they sell these rivet crushing tool at lowes or home depot. I wonder if they work? I also read somewhere that if the bolt cutters are a bigger size than they'll crush everything. Is this true?

Most build parties are too far from me. I might have to go the distance though.

Here is my hybrid

Bolt cutters work fine for the front trunnion.
But not for the rear trunnion or trigger guard.

Modified bolt cutters for the front.
Trigger guard jig and a 20 ton press for the TG.
Specific rear rivet jig for the rears.

How well the rear rivets are done is what separates the boys from the men in AK building.
