just remeber to watch the buffer/spring detent that it does not go flying when you remove the buffer tube, then watch out for the take down detent spring and detent whenyou remove the stock end plate.

pretty easy, just need a stock wrench and should sandwich inbetween the D ring and reciever

The spacer that the sling mount will replace has been punched so that a small piece of it now occupies one of the notches on the back side of the castle nut. Any advice on how to reverse this?

It's staked. That just made the job a whole lot harder.
