    End plate staking/replacing?

So my lower receiver is all built, but I want to put a new stock on it. The end plate and castle nut are both staked. My question is this:
When I remove the stock/castle nut and put on my new stock, will I need to replace the castle nut/end plate or can I still use them?

Forgot to mention that this is on an AR-15 type lower.

Your new stock should come with end plate/castle nut. Or you can reuse your old one. None of my plates are staked or even loctited, but it has never come loose

I would replace the endplate, but you can usually re-use the nut.
