HELP! n00b at customization terms

Okay, so i own an XD 9 service model. Black, brand spanking new. Eventually i want to customize it to be something SORTA like the V-10 pictured below. Mind you the porting would be different unless i actually acquire a V-10 slide and barrel. BASICALLY though, since i haven't been able to find a decent gunsmith in the sacramento area i'd be shipping the gun (or parts of the gun) away. I want to be able tell whomever i am shipping it to WHAT i want done accurately, but i'm still... well customization-retarded. Can someone explain to me what i am looking at here? (besides a sweetass XD)
