Adding a +2 extension to an 870?

So, I'm interested in adding a +2 Wilson extension to my 870, but I don't want to drill out the dimples in the mag tube, as I'm concerned that it will be a breeding ground for rust.

How can I remove the dimples another way?

And, are there any competent gunsmiths in the Bay Area who can remove the dimples, and if so, whats the going rate for that type of thing?

There is a specific tool that removes the dimples. I think Brownell's sells it.

Get the 870 Police model, as I believe it lacks the dimples.

That tool CUTS the dimple out which is about the same as drilling it out as far as rust propagtion goes.

Drill it out and then parkerize the receiver and tube.

For the cost of that tool, I would just replace the magazine tube.

I turned down a piece of steel that looks kind of like that tool from Brownells slid it into and under the dimples. Used a small brass hammer to make small hits on the dimples to help move them back out. It worked great.

I know a buddy of mine did the same thing with a deep well socket but I'm not advocating doing that, just know he did it and it worked.
