10 round AK mags?

Does anybody know where I can get some 10 round Promags in 7.62x39? Has there ever been any in 5.45x39?

I have a 10-round Promag & it sucks! Flops around in the rifle, sits too far in & I had to file on the feedlips and it still sometimes malfunctions. Find a 10-round Chinese mag or just modify a 30. You can find 5-round steel mags & cut down the follower & get 8 (maybe 9) rounds.

Yes, I do use the 5 and 10 round steel mags and some of them have their own problems too. My Promags fit some rifles better than others. I've modified several 30 rounders but they sometime attract unwanted attention. As you know not everybody is as well informed as to laws regarding our rifles as we are John.

Check this out; I went to this website, ordered some mags, got an order confirmation. 2 hrs. later another confirmation with the same order number but the order has been changed to something different I didn't order (mag clamps instead of mags). I'm very concerned about having given them my credit card number.

I've modified several 30 rounders but they sometime attract unwanted attention. As you know not everybody is as well informed as to laws regarding our rifles as we are John.

Thus giving the responsible shooter the opportunity to educate them.

For the 5.45x39 there are steel mags out there and even some Russian polymer mags too but they seem to be rare these days. I'd start looking around the for sale forums at AK Files and The AK Forums.

Thanks G, yes I frequent those forums and even managed to buy some crap reworked steel 10 round frankenmags that I couldn't get a refund on. I got a couple of the 10 round Russian polymers and I'm still kicking myself for not buying all the one that were available. I had mistakenly assumed there were plenty more coming. Here on calguns our trader rating system isn't perfect but it beats the other forums, that's for sure.

Thanks for the Promag contact info, I already got a response from them. I had been told by a gun store employee that he heard Promag wasn't going to make 10 round AK mags anymore. I was assured that Promag was aware of our situation here and that they are committed to making 10 rounders for us as long as they're in business. I sure would like to see them make some 5.45x39 10 rounders also.

I hear you Bob. K-Var had the Izvesk 10 round polymer mags in 5.45x39. Wish I had bought some right after I got my AK74 kits but you snooze you lose!
