Just went through a T/S session with my receiver. I started hogging out material evenly down the face of the upper rails only to be met with the bolt not clearing the right side of the trunnion issue.
After much eyeballing I realized that my ejector was causing the bolt go cock-eyed because it was "too tall" so to speak.
After careful removal of of the ejector material (1/64th) I can get the bolt to clear the trunnion face and rotate freely in the carrier to lock-up.
I have two questions...
1. Is it bad juju to remove ejector material after it has been hardened?
2. How smooth of a surface should I ideally have on the upper rails to avoid galling the carrier? I am assuming as close to true and mirror as I can get.
