    M4 Feed ramps

I have a question about the feed ramps. My barrel does not have true m4 feed ramps but my upper is an m4 feed ramp upper. Can I just dremmel out the ramps on the barrel to line up the ramps better? The barrel is slightly higher then the ramps in the upper. Its a light lip. The more rounds I have put through the gun I have started noticing light copper build up on the lip where they dont meet flat. Does anyone have any pics of this being done and how they did it? Thanks for the help in advance.

this is going to get nasty....

To DREMIL or NOT TO DREMIL...

Don't dremil with anything trying to make M4 ramps......
Post pics to clarify which reciever you have.

If you have a normal reciceiver...Non M-4...Live with it.
you will enjoy it and nothing negative will happen because you
    don't have M4 ramps.

the DREMEL (yes, this is the correct spelling), tend to cause more problems than it solves, and if your upper/barrel combination works, then dont do anything, but keep in mind the next AR you buy/build better be compatible

the upper HAS m4 ramps. The barrel DOES NOT have the ramps. I havent had a problem yet that I would really contribute to the ramps. But I am seeing copper build up were the lip is at since the barrel ramp does not sit flush to the m4 ramps on the upper. When the wife gets home with the camera I'll post some pics. The tool though does not have to be a dremel I have a cylinder head porting kit I could use if it would help. I know you want smooth ramps. I am just wondering if any one has done it and how they went about doing it.

AR15 Barrels, Addax, or Adco will take care of that. I personally would strongly recommend against doing. I'd pay the right person to do that and have it refinished so the soft metal you'll expose is covered back up. Paying someone to do this shouldn't cost too much either.

If you use pmags , you will notice the mag sits higher than most mags and the bullet travel shouldnt even touch the upper it will go straight and barely touch the barrel extention thus into the chamber.

              just my 2 cents,

              thanks

If you have mad dremel skills, then do it.
Use a 1/4" diameter straight stone and follow the existing angle of the receiver's M4 cuts, NOT the barrel extension's feedramps.

If you don't have mad dremel skills, don't attempt this.
