Sorry, i'm on my phone sp no pics. install the trigger/disconnector first, then the hammer/hammer spring.

the two fcg pins are uni-directional...inserted from left to right while looking down the barrel.

if you have a tapco unit, start by inserting the disconnector spring into the disconnector, and placing it on the trigger. there's a hole notched out to retain the spring inside the trigger. the hook of the disc. should face forward. then insert the supplied tube to connect the disc. to the trigger.

insert the entire unit into the receiver and push the fcg pin in until it is fully seated.

I had to watch it like 4 times.. but finally got it

It seems impossible to figure out, but once your done you look back on it and see how simple it was.

Dont use the full auto parts on accident by the way. Some kits come with these. If they do scrap them or save them for better times

The hammer spring should wrap around the hammer so that the two ends extend backwards, while giving resistance to the hammer when you push back on it. place the two ends of the springs on top of the trigger sides, forcefully insert the other end (hammer) into the receiver and pin into place. then install your pin retaining plate, or "sheppards" hook.

don't forget to function test when done.

When you function testing an AK with mags dont use live ammo. I have heard stories of them bump firing.

If you have to, do it at a range or better yet just buy some snap caps

A function test does not require ammo or a dummy round at all. you are just checking to make sure the disconnector is engaging the hammer properly so that you do not have any "doubles" or "hammer follow".

with an empty rifle, pull the charging handle back to cock the hammer. the trigger should do it's job and hold it back in the cocked position.

then pull the trigger (again with an unloaded gun) and hold it back. while depressing the trigger, pull the bolt all of the way back to simulate semi auto fire. the disconnector should catch the hammer at that point. when you release the trigger the hammer should fall forward and be caught by the trigger as before.

I had trouble the first time.
I was like WTF? these pictures don't really help.
Then I figured it out and felt stupid.

                          One little tip:
I replaced my grip with a wooden one that was putting too much pressure up on the trigger (it was pushing up on it from below).

The gun shot just fine but the net result is that it binded up the selector so it couldn't move beyond the trigger (for removal or to go into safe mode).

It drove me nuts (I was just about to dremel out my shepards crook retaining bar) before I figured out what was going on.

I like to hook the ends of the spring on the front of the hammer when inserting the unit into the receiver. It's much easier to handle that way. It will make you bleed though if you don't wrap a zip tie around it first. Once the hammer pin is in I cut the zip tie with dikes and hook the ends of the spring on the trigger bars.

Many guns require the firing pin to be in place to hold the other parts together.
                              This does not always work.
Do that in an AR and you are looking for trouble.
