    Saiga Conversion Question/Parts/Suggestions

First I know about Tapco, and just found out about KVar, are there any other 922r compliant furniture/part makers out there?

I would like to find “true looking” but plastic/polymer AK47 hand guards without having to change out my gas block. If I can not find “true looking” AK47 hand guards then I will use the Tapco Gaili hand guards.
I plan on changing out the trigger/hammer/disconnector group (Tapco) and the stock and fore grip with US parts to gain 922r compliance. Then use a Monsterman or other gripless item to maintain the ability to use my standard capacity magazines.

Second, I was planning on welding all empty holes left over then bead blasting and finally repainting with Brownells Teflon/Moly coat gun finish. I have access to a professional powder coat facilities oven for baking and bead blasting. I thought this stuff would be the best because I plan to shoot mainly corrosive ammo and it should make clean up a as easy as possible.

I also planned to grind off the rounded shield on the piston/gas tube so it will show the corrugations similar to the real rifle.

Does anybody have any suggestions for me? Is there easer or better ways of doing this?

That's all you really need, unless you want US made wood. For that look up Ironwood in Nor Cal.

You will need to get one of the Dinzag bolt on lower HG retainer. Then you can add any AK HG you like. The only problem with Dinzag's design is that it's huge. No one has come up with a bolt on that looks more like the factory retainers.

You know you can just buy a standard AK upper gas tube and attach it. It may only require a small amout of trimming. Although my romy gas tube mounted on with no mods. Then sell the Saiga gas tube to me. I need it for my AKM 63 build.
