Options for Pinning A Kalashnikov Sidefolder

I want to have my AK's built. One will have an AK100 series stock and the other, a triangle stock. Both use the same hinge/pin & "cross bolt" (whatever it's called) method.

What are my options for pinning it so it meets the 30" OAL, but is still reversible (with tools) should I travel out of state for lessons or relocation?

I tried swapping out the spring for a stainless steel pipe cut to length, but the pin that's supposed to hold the spring in place will fall out if you bump it just right.

Someone made it work, but I can't seem to...

    Thanks,
    Jason

A inner sleeve simular to the ones used for the underfolders
Acta as a mechanical block and
is reversable when taken out of Commiefornia.

I've seen and even sold an underfolder stock set, but I'm having trouble visualizing what you mean by "inner sleeve".

There's no spring tension to hold the pin in place. Replace the pin with a wire pull pin clip.

Roger, thanks. So if I send my stock to the gun builder pinned like this, how likely is he to accept this method?

I don't know. Just tell him it's perfectly legal. Which builder?

Hummmm... would there be an issue with the missing stock? I mean, it's be under 30".

Would the builder be required to register it as a pistol build if it's less stock?

                Thanks,
                Jason

I will contact the builder and see if he's willing to work on it that way.

                  Thanks everyone!
