    Broken shell extractor

    Are they all made equal?

Brownell is selling theirs for $20, while others are selling around $5.00-$12.00. What's the difference?

Generally, when brownells goes to the trouble of making something with their brand name, it's because they thought they could improve it.

Having said that, I have never used a broken shell extractor of ANY make.
I have used a tap to pull out the front half of a case after a head seperation.

In most cases, just a bore brush is good enough to remove the front half of the case that's left in the chamber.

Thanks, Randall. I tried to soak the chamber in CLP, bore brush, etc. it isn't budging. I don't have a tap and if I did, I wouldn't trust myself to not ruin my chamber.

<SIGH> I'm going to have to order a broken shell extractor. The Cow Palace Show is coming up, someone there should have one for cheap.
