Ar-10 Lower reciever issues, need a skilled smith?

Heres my problem, I bought an Ar-10 Reciever during the past madness of sales. now almost a year later my DPMS Sass .308 upper are arrived. I tried closing them and nothing they won't meet up. After a brief freak out I examined my problem, the rear of the reciever where it is supposed to be smooth and rounded down, actually cuts at a sharp 45 dgree angle arrghhh.
I guess short of buying a new lower and going through back ground and fees, I was hoping to find a skilled smith who could just round out the edges and make the two halves meet.

any help or insight would be great, and for those of you dying to know what kind of lower I have, it is a Hesse. yes, laugh, but it was all I could find during that period of time and I now know why they are out of business because they have poor quality control.

Hesse is not the same platform as DPMS.

You need to buy a new lower....that would be BEST.

Or buy a Noveske, Armalite, Eagle type upper if you want it to keep that lower.

Personally I don't know anyone who has done what you are asking....

I have owned a Hesse and had it converted to accept DPMS mags. But not DPMS uppers.

You have to use an Armalite upper for it to mate up to a Hesse.

While the Hesse is probably out of speck in a number of ways, the angle at the back of the receiver is not one of them. It was designed to work with an Armalite style upper that is the same shape. Odly, they were also designed to work with modified DPMS mags.

If you can find a qualied smith to fix your lower, you may be happy, but I would suggest you save yourself lots of potential headaches and get a lower that is made to work with your upper.

            1 picture, 1000 words:

DPMS upper receivers fit DPMS, Fulton and POF 308 lowers.
Armalite AR-10 uppers fit Armalite, Noveske, Aero and other AR-10 compatible lowers.

            Another picture:

That's an Armalite upper on a DPMS lower.
You can't go the other way though.

horrid pics that should give you an idea of what an Armalite upper and Hesse Lower will need to have done to run DPMS mags
