Reverse bubba -- does anyone do it?

Seeing all the bubbad Mosin-Nagants and other military rifles sporterized to look more "innocent", I wonder if anyone has ever reverse bubbad a hunting rifle to look more military?

I don't even know if the question makes a lot of sense, but I figured I was too curious to not ask. Feel free to throw in silly answers or photoshops; I mean, I mean to say, if some dude has made a Remington 700 look like a Star Wars gun (and still work), that's good for laughs.

    yep

people do "rescue" bubba'd rifles and return them to their original look, but this is more along the lines of rescuing a stray dog, might look good but its never gonna be a pedigree.

my take on this is, history is never absolute, look at the finns, they took nagants and improved them, I have not heard of anyone "un-finning" a rifle to its original config. so its just where you draw the line, some IMO draw the line far too close, but thats just my 2c

I did that to my SKS. I thought it would be tacticool so i went to a dragunov stock. Looked ok shot ok . Then I went to a sportster stock. Eh it was ok.
I found a wood stock in perfect condition snapped it up and installed it. LOVE the way it looks now. The ONLY thing I'm missing is the cleaning rod.

I was thinking of hunting rifles made to look military

Nice posts, but what I was really thinking of was taking a bog-ordinary hunting rifle and doing ... something ... to make it look more military. Maybe a full length stock, bayonet lug, rails, not sure. Adding an Aimpoint or hanging a light or foregrip on it doesn't count, those are just accessories, and I am thinking of the rifle itself.

What kind of rifle. Are you talking about a bolt action hunting rifle? or a old WW2 infantry rifle? ive seen plenty of rifles bubba'ed and I sort of did it to mine but all I had to do was replace a stock to bring it back to factory condition and reattach the bayonet. I don't think I would ever bubba a rifle again. My buddy did it to a M59/66. He had lights scopes mounts and a tri rail 30 round mag with all kinds of stuff hanging off. That thing was so heavy/ Looked totally ridculous. he sold it to some other idiot for 2x what he paid for the gun and all the "accessories" Personally the only guns that should be tacticooled ( is that even a word?) are today modern battle rifles. And even those people go overboard on the tacticool stuff. I prefer my rifles more basic. I have a M14. the only tacticool thing going on that rifle is a scope mount and a scope. Im not adding rails pistol grips sliding butt stocks lights or any other stuff.
Now IF i were to get a AR or a AK and that would be my main rifle and I use it for urban fighting/combat then yeah a scope , rails for a flashlight etc would be added cause it would be needed

There are lots of products out there to make traditional rifles look evil, many of them geared to the .22 market.

There's the Archangel and other conversions for the 10/22, the NEF/H&R Handi-Rifle tacticool conversion (single shot tactical rifle!), and more.

Once Bubba cuts the barrel it's all over with, unless you have lots of money and patience to find and install a milsurp barrel on the receiver. Stocks can always be found and even another stock can be made from a stock blank, but a cut barrel truly sucks.
