AR Rear take down pin

I just finished my AR build last night and everything went fron except the rear take down pin. I got the pin installed fine but when I try to fit the upper to the lower its really hard to get it through so much so I had to use a light hammer to give it a tap. The weird thing is that taking out is not nearly as difficult. Is this something that will improve in time? The only thing I can think of that might be causing this is the rear take down detent spring got a little mangled going in.

I have a DPMS carbine upper and Independent Armory lower.

Any help would be appreciated.

The detent only engages when it's closed, so it's not that.

I wouldn't worry about it. It will likely burnish and loosen up.

Give it a few more assembly/disassembly cycles and it will loosen up a bit.

As the above posters said, it will break-in and become easier. It's normal.

When I first installed my rear pin, I almost lifted my fingernail trying to pop it out. Now I can flick it hard enough to get it to disengauge.
