Reversing Raddlock.

I was looking for some advice on howto reverse the Raddlock installation on my AK's. I bought a Solar Tactical lock this weekend and wanted to give it a try.

I originally tapped out the magazine release pin using a punch and now there is not enough material to reflare the old pin. I would like to use a solid rivet to reinstall the mag release but I'm having a hard time finding out the size and where I can get some of these rivets. I was planning on using a hand rivet punch. Anyone have any suggestions out there?

get a new pin and use a ball bearing to flare the pin

Shave the old pin down(to the width of the mag release) to hold the spring in place with the mag release and when you get it lined up slide a 1/8 punch through the trigger guard to hold it in place. Then push the punch out with the new pivot pin.

Hi Justin. I'm not disagreeing with you but I don't understand the importance of

Thanks for the suggestions and advice. I kinda wanted to stay away from reattaching the mag catch with the original style pins is because I "flared" the gas tube lock on the same rifle and it works, but it looks like garbage.

I was hoping I could find an appropriately sized rivet and use something like this to mushroom the end.



Anyone know where to get metric rivets?
