How to Enlarge Frame Holes?

Gents,

Thank you to everyone. The gun is a well known cheaper brand. I like it, but I really would like to change the ambidextrous thumb safety to a one side GI style.

I have all the thumb safety, the hammer pin, and sear pin. All from Fusion. But fitting first to see if everything fits, that's where I found the problem.

The gun is cerakoted. I tried scraping the hole with a jewelers fine file but the pins still wouldn't fit. Maybe, I'll just give it to a gunsmith.

If you are in SoCal, pretty sure the ar15barrels guy above will do it while you wait.

Follow up to this thread.

I found some 1911 pins from some of my long ago sold away guns. To my delight, the sear pin fit. I bought one side thumb safety from Kimber Inc. and it fit perfectly, all that was needed was a few swipe of a jeweler's file on the cam lobe......and I have accomplished that conversion. Passed all safety checks as specified in the book!

My fullsized Rock Island 1911 EFS with Grey Cerakote finish, its stock ambidextrous thumb safety converted to a one side thumb safety. Exactly how I like it.
