    Help with an 870

A customer brought in an 870 that has a broken ejector. It is broken off in front of the forward rivet. It is causing a spent round to hang up when it is cycled. I can file and blend the front edge but would like to replace it. I don't have the tools for it. if there is someone local to OC who has the experience/ability to do it. It is a Remington Outdoors SN so the current Remington won't touch it. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I have the tools to replace 870 ejectors but getting the parts is the hard part lately.
If you can source an ejector and spring and rivets, I can do the work while you wait.

I have the OEM parts you need. Since Rem went bankrupt, the replacement costs are crazy.

My ejector broke. I called Remmington and they sent me all the parts for free. It was an easy fix also.

I tried calling Remington and because it's an older one (Remington Outdoors SN) they just sent me to others but wouldn't let me get the parts from them.

Numerich/Gun Parts has rivets but not the ejector or spring.

@Randall - Does the spring need to be replaced or is just the better thing to do?

                        I'm sure you are right.
I wanted to have the poster clarify, so that others can see how many years ago that actually was or wasn't.

The spring will need replacing if it is damaged. They usually get damaged when removing the broken ejector!

I wonder if I should squirrel away those part for a time when I may need them. I don't actively shoot mine anymore as it is set up for a hidden home access weapon.

AS far as I know worked fine when put into that use. It's an older model too likely 1970 or earlier.
