A customer brought in an 870 that has a broken ejector. It is broken off in front of the forward rivet. It is causing a spent round to hang up when it is cycled. I can file and blend the front edge but would like to replace it. I don't have the tools for it. if there is someone local to OC who has the experience/ability to do it. It is a Remington Outdoors SN so the current Remington won't touch it. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Help with an 870

I have the tools to replace 870 ejectors but getting the parts is the hard part lately.
If you can source an ejector and spring and rivets, I can do the work while you wait.

Most work done while you wait on a scheduled shop visit. -
I have the OEM parts you need. Since Rem went bankrupt, the replacement costs are crazy.Last edited by kendog4570; 02-28-2024, 8:10 AM.Comment

My ejector broke. I called Remmington and they sent me all the parts for free. It was an easy fix also.Comment

Numerich/Gun Parts has rivets but not the ejector or spring.
@Randall - Does the spring need to be replaced or is just the better thing to do?Comment

The spring will need replacing if it is damaged. They usually get damaged when removing the broken ejector!Comment

I wonder if I should squirrel away those part for a time when I may need them. I don't actively shoot mine anymore as it is set up for a hidden home access weapon.
AS far as I know worked fine when put into that use. It's an older model too likely 1970 or earlier.NRA Life Member
