Does blue loctite work on non-threaded surfaces?

Working on installing a tandemkross trigger shoe in my Buckmark.

It comes with a disconnector pin that is too loose in the trigger shoe.

This looseness allows it to creep out, rub on the grip panel, and cause reset issues.

I know green loctite would do the job but that would be permanent which would be bad.

Would blue loctite work as a reversible retaining agent? In essence as a temporary green loctite?

I’m not too familiar with but is possible to maybe peen the hole a little to tighten up that pin tolerance?

Flare the pin a wee bit or buy a larger one.

Yes, but use red if you dont want to go full monte with the bearing and sleeve retainer. A few seconds with a lighter will soften it if you ever want to remove it.

That would make it permanent.

This pin is meant to be removable (and needs to be removed) should you ever want to remove the trigger shoe.

I think I will try using the original pin and see if that has more interference.

It's kinda dumb because as I was watching the install video (which also shows the same pin freely dropping in) I was thinking, "what is going to keep that from walking out and causing issues?"

Sure enough, it walked out and caused issues.

At the end of the day, the gun was designed with a press fit pin in this location. I'll just be half-assing it if I try to loctite a loose pin in.

Edit: Well, I guess I am half-assing it, the original pin is looser than the new one in the TK trigger. Thankfully TK pin has a shoulder that will prevent it from going in too far. Red loctite will hopefully prevent it working it's way out.

In conclusion, I chickened out and went with blue.

Works great, holds strong.

Well, any rate, harder to remove than such a small inconsequential part needs to be.
