    Armorer training/certifications

I am looking to get some armorer certifications and training for different platforms and wanted to know if there are any places in so cal that you guys recommend. I am pretty knowledgable with the m16/ar15 platform from the military (along with many other weapon systems) but nothing to show for it. I mainly want these for my knowledge and or possibly as a job skills for a different job down the road. Any input appreciated.

Most factory authorized armorer's courses require some sort of sponsorship by a LE department or govt agency.

No dept will give you preferential treatment because you have additional Armorer training, during initial hiring. Your MC service will be counted.

If you are already associated with an organization (public or private), and want to move up, it could help. Most places prefer college degrees with ubber "foot soldier time" to move up. Place like a LE training dept. or a private security/ training company looking to fill "Director of training" slot.

Other options after getting certified are to open your own joint with gunsmithing and/or training. Gives your joint a sense of legitimacy. Last choice is to knock on doors of places such as, BlackWater and Executive Decisions (?), but things are getting slow there too.
Well I'm not trying to go LEO but perhaps an armorer position like you said. It's mostly to gain general knowledge if I do decide to go that way. I know that these qualifications alone are not going to make the big bucks but it's something I enjoy doing and learning and wouldn't mind having something to show for it.

Well FYI, the army has all jobs closed for prior service like me. Except for infantry , eod and I think that's it. I know because a friend of mine is an army recruiter in corona.
